Price transparency for research peptides

PeptideIndex is a price index. It tracks what research-peptide vendors publicly list on their own storefronts, normalizes every listing to a comparable USD per mg, and keeps the history — so a price can be seen not just as it is today, but as it has moved over time. That’s the entire product: the same listing data anyone could gather by hand, collected nightly, made comparable, and kept honest.

Methodology

Every night, PeptideIndex reads the public catalog pages of the vendor storefronts in the vendor database. For each listing it records the advertised price, package size, and stated peptide content, then:

• Normalizes to $/mg — the vendor’s price divided by the stated total peptide mass, so a 5 mg vial and a 10 mg vial compare on equal terms.
• Converts to USD — non-USD listings are converted at current exchange rates before comparison.
• Excludes shipping — every figure on this site is the listed product price only, ex-shipping.
• Uses public pages only — no vendor accounts, no checkout probing; if a price isn’t publicly listed, it isn’t in the index.
• Never sums separate products — multi-vial “stacks” are shown side by side, each at its own price; premixed single-vial blends are priced per mg of total peptide and clearly labeled, because a blend’s $/mg is not comparable to a single compound’s.

PeptideIndex carries no affiliate links, no referral codes, and no paid placement. Vendor links go straight to the vendor’s own pricing page, tagged rel="nofollow", and no vendor can pay to change how it appears. Brand names for blends are listed only as searchable aliases — composition comes first.

Why history matters

A current-price comparison tells you who is cheapest today. Only history tells you whether today’s price is normal, a spike, or a genuine drop — and whether a “sale” is real. Because PeptideIndex snapshots every vendor every night, each compound page carries a price-over-time chart (median and lowest $/mg) alongside the current listings, and 30-day trend figures are computed from actual observed baselines, not vendor claims.

Data freshness

The index is refreshed nightly; the footer of every page shows the date of the last completed sync. A vendor’s listing appears as “current” only while it is live on their storefront on the most recent crawl. First loads after a quiet period can take a few extra seconds while the database wakes.
